Director of the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, was invited as a speaker in the 8th Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF 8) at Suwon International Convention Centre, Suwon, South Korea on 23-26 October 2023. The event was organised by United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) and hosted by Suwon City.

He shared the importance role of international collaboration in assisting cities in accessing climate finance together with high-level local government officials, civil society organisation, and donors. On this occasion, he promoted IMT-GT and engaged with various potential partners such as GIZ, Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA-CPI), United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG-ASPAC), City Climate Gap Fund (the World Bank and the European Investment Bank). On the sideline of the APUF8, CIMT also had productive meeting with UN-ESCAP to finalise transboundary projects which was launched during the 29th IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting on 29 September 2023 in Batam, Indonesia.
