3 July 2025—The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Dr. Kanop Ketchart, Mayor of Nakhon Si Thammarat to explore collaboration in smart city development, Muslim-friendly tourism, AI-based education, and green initiatives.

Joined by TICA and Walailak University, the visit aimed to align the city’s strengths with IMT-GT’s subregional development priorities. Key platforms for potential engagement include the Green Cities Mayor Council (GCMC) and the ASEAN Mayors Forum, fostering inclusive and sustainable urban development across the subregion.
