In preparation for the upcoming 4th IMT-GT Working Group on Environment (WGE) Meeting, to be hosted by Malaysia, the Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. P. Jeevananth Paliah, Undersecretary of Strategic Planning and International Division at NRES.

CIMT expressed appreciation for the hard work and commitment from NRES in hosting the upcoming meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Preparations for the WGE Meeting was discussed and both sides look forward to a productive discussion on fostering environmental sustainability in the IMT-GT subregion. The meeting also explored potential areas of collaboration that align with ASEAN’s environmental goals, such as promoting biodiversity conservation, mitigating the effects of climate change, and developing sustainable waste management practices.
