CIMT and UNESCAP held Workshop for IMT-GT Transboundary Local Pilot Facilitation Project, Putrajaya,11 – 12 September 2023
A collaborative workshop between CIMT and UNESCAP (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) focusing on the IMT-GT Transboundary Local Pilot Facilitation Project was organized on 11 – 12 September 2023. This event brought together representatives from 11 cities and regencies/districts in the IMT-GT region, including Aceh, Batam, Pekanbaru, Lebong, Alor Setar, Ipoh, Kluang, Kota Bharu, Hat Yai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Thungsong. This workshop facilitated by Mr. Krzysztof Zbigniew Kaczmarski and Ms. Nur Hamidah from UN-ESCAP, along with Mr. Bernard, CIMT appointed Consultant and the City Climate Finance GAP Fund to assist project implementation.
Following the outcomes of the workshop, the Solid Waste Management sector emerged as a viable and promising sector for proposal to the GAP Fund along with the Sustainable Urban Mobility and Greening Urban Areas, highlighting IMT-GT commitment on sustainable urban development.
