WEBINAR ON APPLICATION OF EMISSIONS QUANTIFICATION TOOL (EQT) FOR ESTIMATION OF GHGs/SLCPs FROM MSWM SECTOR AT CITY LEVEL

The Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Sub-regional Cooperation (CIMT) in collaboration with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies Centre Collaborating with UNEP on Environmental Technologies (IGES/CCET), and the IMT-GT Working Group on Environment (WGE) held a Webinar on Application of Emission Quantification Tool (EQT) for Quantification of GHG and SLCP on Monday, 14 February 2022 at 14.30PM (GMT+8, Malaysia Time).

The webinar was held as an initiative to introduce the application of EQT for the quantification of GHG and SLCP emissions from the municipal solid waste sector, as well as to explore the potential application of EQT in the IMT-GT region with technical training provided. The webinar is also aimed to accelerate the achievement of the target of GHG emission reduction as stipulated in the IMT-GT Sustainable Urban Development Framework (SUDF) 2019 – 2036.

The webinar presented distinguished experts from the IGES/CCET – Japan and remarks from IMT-GT stakeholders, namely the IMT-GT Working Group on Environment and CIMT. The webinar also was participated by cities (municipality), provincial members, IMT-GT University Network, Joint Business Council of IMT-GT countries, IMT-GT National Secretariats, and other related stakeholders.
