On 18 February 2021, CIMT with collaboration between Padang City/ West Sumatera Province, Indonesia, and IGES/CCET Japan had a virtual meeting, to discuss the new initiative to improve solid waste management to support the City’s long development agenda of “Smart City” and to help local government to achieve SDG 11 on sustainable cities and human settlement in the long run. This meeting will also discuss further the collaboration on the COVID-19 waste management initiative to build consensus on both parties’ involvement in this new initiative.
